I've said it a million times - one of the greatest joys of fishing is not knowing when, what, or
how big. Today was just another perfect example of this. I've fished this section of the south
river quite a few times in the past (just behind Humarock Beach) and I have never seen, let alone
caught, any other fish besides striped bass. Today, though, I landed a beautiful fat flounder
that completely swallowed a 3/0 beak-style hook intended for the much larger mouthed striped bass.
Just goes to show that you just never know when, what, or how big, and that is what makes this
sport the best in my book.
